Flow

Flow is a two-bedroom apartment on Parkes Lane, plain and well made, with a brick partition wall running through it and a gravel courtyard outside the door.

A covered pergola walkway runs alongside the building to a private entrance, and there is private parking. It is low-key from outside, and the courtyard is the part that sells it: gravel, a large umbrella, an outdoor dining table beneath it.

Brick wall, leather couch

The living area is open plan, a brown leather couch facing into the room with the kitchenette beyond the brick wall. The counter has a gas hob, a kettle and a brick splashback, with a toaster, a fridge and kitchenware, which suits breakfast and a simple supper rather than a project. A breakfast tray is left out on the table. There is a television, heating and a fan.

Blue linen and a floral blind

Two bedrooms sleep four. One takes a double under blue patterned linen with a ceiling fan turning above and the brick partition behind the bed; the other is a twin with a floral roman blind at the window. Rolled white towels are left on the beds with a sprig of greenery, and linen is provided. The bathroom has a shower rather than a bath.

Gravel, umbrella, deck chairs

The courtyard is gravel with the umbrella over its dining table and two deck chairs set out beside it. A covered outdoor dining area alongside has wood decking under a pergola roof. There is outdoor furniture and a terrace.

Parkes Lane and the water

Leisure Isle is a low residential island in the estuary, a single causeway linking it to town. The lagoon shore is a walk away in most directions. If you want a whole house instead, there are the island’s holiday homes.
