About this property
Island Nest is an upstairs apartment on Thornely Road, in a two-storey house with a balcony across the front and a flowering garden below it.
There is a garage and accessible parking, and you go up by stairs to a private entrance. The apartment has been soundproofed, which in a building shared with anyone is worth more than most of what gets advertised.
Wicker, futon, breakfast bar
The lounge has wicker chairs, a navy futon and a daybed round a coffee table on a striped rug, the television on a unit against the wall. The kitchen opens to it across a white breakfast bar with three stools: an oven, a stovetop, a microwave, a toaster and a kettle, with a tumble dryer alongside. Floors are hardwood throughout.
One bed, and the futon
The bedroom has a double bed under teal and blue striped cushions with a navy throw, fitted wardrobes down one wall and sliding doors onto the balcony, and a door through to the en-suite. It sleeps two, with the sofa bed in the lounge for anyone extra. The bathrooms are tiled with mosaic strips, one with a vanity, the other behind a glass shower door.
Wine on the balcony
The balcony takes a table and chairs and looks over a garden circle towards wooded hills. Below it a swimming pool sits in paving among landscaped garden. There is a braai, a picnic area and outdoor dining furniture.
Thornely Road and the island
Pets are allowed. Bicycles can be hired, and the island is flat enough to make that the obvious way about. Leisure Isle joins Knysna by the Armstrong Road causeway and by nothing else. There are bigger houses here for larger groups.
Two people who
Want a balcony, a pool downstairs and a front door of their own, and do not mind a staircase.
