About this property
Lazy Daze is a detached house on Thornley Road with a double-volume living room at the middle of it and bright pink bougainvillea over almost everything outside.
You come at it across its own lawn with that bougainvillea in the foreground. Parking includes an accessible bay, and the entrance is your own. The upper rooms are reached by stairs only.
Double volume and a loft
The living room goes up two storeys, a wooden staircase climbing one wall with a fireplace at the foot of it and a mezzanine loft looking down from above. Sliding doors open to the garden. The kitchen and dining area are open plan beneath exposed wooden beams, with a stove, an oven, a microwave, a kettle and a washing machine.
Beds under the beams
The bedrooms are simply furnished and there are several: one with a sliding door onto a small patio, one with a vaulted ceiling and a cushioned day bed, twins with a wardrobe and dressing mirror, a pair dressed in white linen with teal cushions, one with striped pillows and a wooden blanket box, another with a desk and a chest of drawers. The bathroom has a bath, red towels and a shuttered window.
Bougainvillea over the pergola
A paved patio sits under a pergola draped in that pink bougainvillea, and an outdoor dining table stands beneath a second wooden pergola out on the lawn. A covered wooden deck holds rocking chairs facing the garden, and there is a braai on the sun terrace.
Thornley Road and the island
Pets are allowed. The island is low and quiet, and because a single causeway is the only way across, the lanes carry nobody who is not staying on them. Steenbok Nature Reserve fills the northern shore and never closes. There are smaller apartments on the island.
Good if
You are a family or a group wanting room to spread vertically as well as horizontally, and bringing the dog.
