About this property

Seacrest Villa is a three-storey white house on George Avenue, palm trees out front, a picket fence, and enough balconies that somebody is always outside on one of them.

The ground floor holds the garage, and the garage holds bicycles, kayaks, paddleboards and life jackets — about the clearest statement of intent a house can make. A path runs through the garden to a glass door standing open. There is parking. Bougainvillea has taken over one corner of the fence.

Up the wooden staircase

A staircase of wooden treads on a steel frame climbs under a skylight to a landing with a glass balustrade. The kitchen is white with a teal subway-tile splashback and an island, running through to a long wooden dining table with bench seating. The living room has tan leather sofas and a window taking up most of a wall. Dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer.

Grey headboards, folding doors

The bedrooms are done in a consistent hand: grey tufted headboards, teal throws, tropical scatter cushions, an oriental rug in one. Several open through folding or sliding doors onto a balcony or into the garden. One is a twin, blue check bedding with reading lamps on the wall. Bathrooms are plentiful, corner baths in three and glass-walled showers throughout.

The patio that wraps round

A covered patio runs around the house beneath the upper deck, with a long wooden dining table, wicker seating and a braai. Folding glass doors open the ground floor straight onto it. The lawn alongside is where the kayaks get stacked at the end of the day.

Down at the point

The lagoon edge is a short walk, with benches, a sandy stretch and water off the point clear enough to see the bottom. The island is reached by the Armstrong Road causeway and nothing passes through. If a whole house is more than you need, there are apartments on Leisure Isle as well.

Suited to

A big family, or two families sharing, especially with children old enough to take a paddleboard out alone.
