About this property
This is one room on Horne Drive with its own entrance, its own bathroom and its own bit of garden — a self-contained annexe rather than a room down somebody’s hall.
It sits on the ground floor and you let yourself in from outside, so there is no reception to pass and no shared landing. There is parking. Planting screens the entrance, and the whole thing is arranged so that you and the owners can be on one property for a week without ever meeting in a doorway.
Coffee at the L-shaped counter
A kitchenette runs along one wall in an L, with a sink, open shelving stacked with glassware, a fridge, a microwave and a coffee machine set up as a proper station. There is a kettle and kitchenware. A sofa and a wall-mounted television sit across from it, above a credenza. It handles breakfast and a light supper, and does not pretend to handle more.
The bed and the doors beside it
The bed is made up under a ceiling fan, with French doors alongside opening straight onto the patio. Teal pillows, artwork, a desk with room to actually work at. The bathroom has a bathtub set against mosaic tile with a small window above it, plus a shower, a basin and a mirror.
Two places to sit outside
A round white table and chairs stand on the garden patio, and a wooden deck sits further back among dense planting, laid with a table for eating outdoors. The garden is green and enclosed rather than open, so neither spot is overlooked.
Where it puts you
Leisure Isle is a residential island in the Knysna estuary, reached by the Armstrong Road causeway. The reserve at Steenbok takes up the island’s northern edge and is free to walk at all hours. Shops and eating places cluster near Kings Park, and there are self-catering apartments on the island for longer stays.
Right for
One person or a couple who want privacy and a kettle, and who plan to eat out.
